For the latter half of October and early November full swing into our Poppy Appeal campaign, fundraising in support of the Royal British Legion.
The shop was turned into a festival of poppies from amazing paper poppies and the tri-service flag, draped in poppy brooches, poppy scarves and poppy accessories, eye catching windows and dramatic displays.
This year has been our 5th year of our campaign and every year it grows, with people coming back year on year to donate of pick up another decorative poppy.
The word has spread, and people come far and wide to our boutique on Farnham Highstreet specifically for our range of poppies and the donations that we make.
Our Fundraising
This year we raised a whooping £1033 in total through our fundraising and thanks to all your support.
The Royal British Legion provides lifelong support for the Armed Forces community – serving men and women, veterans, and their families.
Being the 100th year since the end of world war one, this year was particularly poignant with extra special events to remember all those who served.
Farnham District British Legion
We were very kindly invited to a special remembrance ceremony at Farnham Castle; recognising the work that we do for the Farnham District British Legion. Lighting a beacon in remembrance behind the castle wall lit with red poppies projected on to it. A very touching event that we were privileged to be part of.
The total raised in the district was £37,721 and we are very proud that our donation has made up 2.74% of that total, which for one little shop, we don’t think it’s bad going!
We would like to thank all our customers for all their donations to such a wonderful cause, you can be sure the poppies will be out again next year for more fundraising for such a worthwhile cause
