The new year has come and gone and we can finally start looking forward to Spring and some warmer weather! If you’re thinking about what to wear to that wedding this year, or even about your Ascot hat, we’ve compiled some of the SS17 fashion trends we found from some of our favourite dress shops (Hobbs, Jacques Vert, Coast, Phase Eight and Whistles) for Spring /summer 2017.
Florals
Spring wouldn’t be spring without a large helping of floral prints! Some soft pastels at Phase Eight, pretty watercolour-type patterns at Hobbs and lots of big bold flowers making an appearance at Coast and Jacques Vert.
Deep warm tones
Navy and ochre is a fabulous combination, seen at Hobbs and Whistles for SS17 along with burnt oranges and khaki green. Not just for Autumn! Lots of stripes seen here too, so maybe the 70s trend hasn’t gone away just quite yet.
Vibrant colour clashes
There were a lot of vibrant colours across the new collections this year. Bold mixes of bright red and purple dominated prints at Jacques Vert and hot pinks clash with green at Coast. Lots of blue too, with bright sapphire tones at Jacques Vert and rich blues at Coast.
Bold prints
Of course, as we’ve mentioned, lots of florals from everyone for SS17, but we’re not talking tiny delicate patterns – think lots of bright and bold prints with large floral motifs. There were some amazing tropical vibes from Coast and Whistles, while geometric shapes in jewel tones were seen at Phase Eight and Jacques Vert.
Embroidery
We love the feminine embroidery seen at Hobbs and Phase Eight. Bigger is better this season, and the large embroidered patterns on this Hobbs jacket are amazing!
Here’s just a taster of what’s to come. We hope it’s given you a little inspiration for the season ahead. Check out our SS17 Pinterest board for more, and don’t forget to follow us too! 🙂
