So, what is the Style guide?
The Style Guide is an annual campaign by Royal Ascot. It sets the standard for dress at the most famous and stylish racing event in the British calendar Royal Ascot. With 4 different enclosures all requiring different dress codes, the style guide is there to provide inspiration for race goers and to set out the code. See the full style guide here.
We find that people get very worried about complying with the dress code but there is nothing to worry about. Essentially it is just dressing well and properly as you should in the company of royals, a proper hat in the royal enclosure, dresses too the knee, no midriffs showing, no strappy our off the shoulder dresses. Mostly the style code is common sense for the type of occasion and nothing to fear! Be stylish, stick to traditional dress rules and be modest and you will not come across any issues!

The Process
In December we packaged up a selection of hats to go to the Stole guide shoot. Of course it is up to the stylist what is included, they just pull clothes, millinery and shoes from various sources. What they use on the day and what they don’t, is down to the stylist. We found out a few weeks before the release of the style guide that one of our pieces had made the final cut of the style guide. We had no idea which piece and had not seen any of the imagery until the day the style guide was released.
The guide is full of wonderful British designers and is a real celebration of style, to inspire ideas for you to take on for your own style. We were thrilled to find out that our knotted bow pillbox had made the cut with this amazing image! And we are so excited to be part of such of style guide of such a worldwide renowned event setting fashion trends for the year ahead.
