We thought you’d like to see a few of the beautiful images from our recent photo shoot with photographer Ginny Marsh.
Beverley Edmondson was Art Director for a collaborative photo shoot to bring together and highlight the talents of local Farnham businesses. There are so many fantastic small local businesses on our doorstep that we wanted to encourage people to support them and make the most of these independents.
The theme was Vintage Glamour, using clean simple lines and mainly focusing on the silhouette of 1950’s shapes in fashion.
Beverley has worked closely with Ginny Marsh and Make up artist Tass Collier for years to capture her stunning hats. However this was the first time that Beverley had worked with these local businesses:
Erica Jordan from The Real Green Dress.
Pauline Guerin from Melody Clark Couture Jewellery
Models: Helen Taylor, Yaasmin Shukla and Daisy Mai.
Vanessa Albury from Forever Cakes
And Hair by Nadine Mckenny
‘Licked’ bar were kind enough to let us use their venue on the Woolmead in Farnham. This was such a fabulous location due to the different zones in the bar, which meant we could get such different styling options from one location. Licked also help give the shoot a more contemporary contrast to the Vintage styling to give a fresher more modern look, to make it relevant to our modern day clientele.
The English weather was kind to us and we were so lucky that a vintage car just turned up on cue when we were shooting outside the Nelson Pub in Castle Street! We couldn’t have planned it better ourselves! The owners were more than happy to lend it to us for a few images, thank you!
We also took some lovely images against the backdrop of the historical almshouses in Castle Street, which are a key historical Farnham landmark. Their blue doors provided such a great colour background!
Our models did a fantastic job of expressing the mood and their hair and make up help to set the scene beautifully. The exquisite vintage dresses and jewellery complemented Beverley’s stunning hats perfectly. We particularly like the striking image of Beverley’s feather visor hat, captured by Ginny Marsh with a dramatic shadow echoing the silhouette.
The added bonus was the fantastically looking and tasting cakes from Forever Cakes, which had the added bonus of needing to be consumed after the shoot! Which by the way tasted even more delicious than they looked!
Life in Farnham Editorial Manager, Henry Ascoli was invited along to the shoot to take a behind the scenes look at the day’s events. Look out for more images in July’s issue in Life in Farnham Magazine and take a look at Henry’s pictures on Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=930812586960071&id=262784477096222
We are thrilled with the results and the breadth of styles created. We hope that we hope it will encourage people celebrate what’s on offer locally and support local small business. We hope you like them too!
